About
Vael is the DJ project of Pankaj Brijlani — a Senior VFX Supervisor with credits on Dune: Part Two, Game of Thrones, Wednesday, Reacher, and Logan, who has spent over two decades making the invisible visible on screen.
The same instinct that drives his visual work — the obsessive pursuit of a feeling, something that lands before your brain can name it — drives his sets. Melodic. Hypnotic. Cinematic. Music that builds a world in 30 minutes and leaves you somewhere different than where you started.
Born and raised in Delhi. The morning prayer, the city noise, the silence between both. That's the frequency Vael plays in.
The Sound
Biography
Vael doesn't have a dictionary definition. It was built from sound — and that's the point.
Growing up in Delhi, sound was never background. It was structure. Morning mantras bled into street noise, silence into prayer. The idea that a frequency could carry something — mean something — was never learned. It was just there.
By day, Vael is Pankaj Brijlani: Senior VFX Layout Supervisor with over two decades of credits spanning Dune: Part Two, Game of Thrones, Wednesday, Reacher, and Logan. The craft of visual effects is the craft of convincing someone to feel something that doesn't exist — to believe in a world constructed frame by frame. A DJ set is the same discipline, in a different medium.
Based in Toronto, Vael plays at the intersection of melodic house, melodic techno, Afro house, and deep house — a sound shaped by Afterlife and Anjunadeep, but rooted in something more personal. Sets that build slowly, arrive suddenly, and leave space for the moment after the drop to breathe.
Sessions 001 is the beginning. More follows.
